Coming out of a year long pandemic that has greatly curtailed our routine
Beauty appointments and maintenance upkeep, now’s the time to start setting your
Beauty budget and skin care goals for Spring and beyond.
As a medical aesthetician working alongside a plastic surgeon, I have seen the demand for fillers and botox grow exponentially. These injections are costly, uncomfortable, and often lead to temporary swelling and bruising. The price tag can be steep as well. I’m not suggesting there isn’t a place for them, but there are more permanent solutions that are less costly and less invasive. Botox aside, and working with a variety of anti-aging technologies, these days we have the treatment technologies that can build your own collagen from within. In essence-owning your collagen- a more stable and permanent fix to smile lines, crows feet, and hollow cheeks.
It involves a 3 pronged approach for achieving the best results:
A Treatment program proven to stimulate new collagen & elastin:
Vivace microneedling with radio frequency and Red light therapy
Laser rejuvenation-both light based such as BBL or ablative like profractional
Ultrasound technology, Chemical peels, Microcurrent facials with LED.
Professional grade skin care products having active ingredients, such as:
Retinol, bakuchiol, peptides, growth factors, ceramides, antioxidants, hyaluronic acid and sunblock
Sun protection 365 days a year! If the sun is up and it’s daylight, you should have some sort of sunscreen coverage starting at SPF30. This should be a lifelong approach to slowing the aging process.
I’ll end by reminding all of my readers the value of consistency. Since I perform a variety of facials and treatments using the above technologies, the best results my clients experience are when they are consistent with home care and make the time for monthly facial treatments.
If you’re new to this, start with facials and gradually get familiar with more advanced treatments. You’ll feel rewarded every time you look in the mirror.
